Overview
The notice is in Hindi. It says clearly that the Home Guard is a volunteer organisation: members are paid an allowance only for the days they are called on duty, and it is not a salaried government job. Enrolment is for 4 years.
Applicants must be 19 to 40 on 1 January 2026 and permanent residents of the block (rural) or the urban area they apply from. Half the places are for women. Minimum height is 162 cm for general, OBC and BC men, 157 cm for SC and ST men and 148 cm for women. Selection includes a 1-mile run, high jump, long jump and shot put.
