Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway has notified 4,651 Act Apprentice training slots under Notification RRC/NR/03/2026 dated 6 November 2026. Online applications open on 11 November and close on 11 December 2026. Selection is on merit, with no written test.

Overview
This is apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961, not a railway job. The notice says the railway is not obliged to offer employment after training, and the apprentice is not obliged to accept it. Training slots are provisional and may go up or down.

Who can apply
Candidates must already have passed Class 10 (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and ITI in the relevant trade, both by 6 November 2026. Candidates whose results are awaited cannot apply.
Age: at least 15 and below 24 on 11 December 2026. The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwBD, with further relaxation for ex-servicemen.
Selection
There is no written test or interview. The merit list is the average of the percentage marks in Class 10 and ITI, with equal weight to both, prepared cluster-wise, trade-wise and community-wise. On equal marks, the older candidate goes first. The notice expects the merit list in February 2027, followed by document verification.
How to apply
Apply online on rrcnr.org from 11 November 2026 to 11 December 2026 (23:59). Check the trade-wise slots in Annexure A first: choosing a cluster or unit with no slots for your ITI trade gets the application rejected. Only one application per candidate is allowed.
