Overview
Under Employment Notification No. 2026/05 (J&OP), GRSE, a Navratna defence shipyard, invites applications. Journeymen train for 2 years on a stipend of Rs. 24,000, then Rs. 26,000 a month, and may be absorbed into the SSK grade. Drivers join in the Skilled grade on Rs. 20,110-70,390.

Eligibility
Journeymen need 10th with NAC or NTC in a listed trade for their post. The upper age is 26 on 1 October 2026, plus 5 years for SC and ST, 3 for OBC and 10 for PwBD on reserved posts. Drivers need 10th, a commercial LMV licence and 6 years' driving experience, with an upper age of 32. Degree holders in engineering, technology or pharmacy and those with MBA, CA, CMA, CS, LLB, MCA or PhD are not eligible.
Selection and how to apply
Selection has a written test at Kolkata or Ranchi, then document checks and a practical test. Driver Material Handling, Rigger and Crane Operator also have a physical test. Apply online through the GRSE link from 2 pm on 30 October to 11:59 pm on 28 November 2026.
