KPSC Halts 1,261 Posts After High Court Reservation Order
KPSC said on 17 October 2026 that recruitment for 1,261 remaining posts, including 384 Gazetted Probationers, is on hold until the government gives directions after a High Court order.

Summary
On 12 October 2026 the Karnataka High Court struck down Sections 3 and 4 of the state's 2022 SC and ST reservation Act. Of 2,610 posts under 18 notifications that had gone ahead under an interim order, KPSC has finished 1,349. It has temporarily stopped the other 1,261 and will proceed on the government's directions. For the 1,349, appointing authorities are to follow the government's directions too.
