DGFT Mumbai Consultant Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts for Retired Officers, Apply by 5 November

The Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai, an attached office of the Department of Commerce, issued this circular (F. No. 75/02/2022-2025/HRD) on 16 October 2026. It seeks 9 retired government officers as consultants on contract. The engagement is initially for one year and can be extended or shortened.

• You must be under 64 on the closing date and in good health.
• You must have retired as an Assistant Section Officer, Section Officer or Under Secretary, or equivalent, from a Central Government ministry, department or its attached or subordinate office.
• You need secretariat experience in noting, drafting and typing, in areas such as policy implementation, funds, budget and accounts, establishment or cash.
• You must be comfortable with Word, PowerPoint and Excel and able to print your own notes and drafts.

Pay is last pay drawn minus pension, plus the TA drawn at retirement, with no DA. Working hours are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm with biometric attendance. Paid leave is 1.5 days per completed month and cannot be carried past the calendar year. You cannot take any other assignment during the contract. Either side may end it with one month's notice or pay in lieu.
