Overview
In its advertisement dated 15 October 2026, the Registry invites Indian citizens to apply for a panel for 20 tentative vacancies of Court Master (Shorthand), a gazetted post. Basic pay starts at Rs. 67,700 plus allowances. The number of posts may change.
Eligibility
You need a bachelor's degree, English shorthand at 120 wpm, computer typing at 40 wpm, and at least 5 years' regular service as Private Secretary, Senior PA, PA or Senior Stenographer in government, a PSU or a statutory body. On 1 October 2026 you must be at least 30 and not over 45, with relaxation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and ex-servicemen under government rules. Departmental candidates of the Registry have no upper age limit.

How to apply
Apply through the link on sci.gov.in from 25 October to 11:55 pm on 15 November 2026, and pay online. The fee is not refundable. You do not need to post the printout. The objective test is tentatively on 7 December 2026. Shorthand and typing tests are in Delhi/NCR.
